Includes an initial round of edits (2 passes), plus a complimentary follow-up proofread to ensure that edits have been finalized. I’ll edit for grammar, punctuation, and word usage, look at clarity and flow of text, check for plot holes and bloopers, and do consistency and fact checks. For anything in book form, you receive a custom style sheet so you can keep track of style choices and refer back to it for future projects.

Line Editing -
Includes everything under copy editing, plus a deeper analysis of the writing itself. I will edit line by line, looking at sentence structure and writing technique. I will suggest revisions of problem areas or spots that could use more description or information. Includes an initial round of edits (2 passes), plus a complimentary follow-up proofread to ensure that edits have been finalized. For anything in book form, you receive a custom style sheet so you can keep track of style elements and refer back to it for future projects.

Authenticity Reading - NEW!
Includes one pass of your manuscript, with comments (both positive and constructive) in the document and additional feedback provided. I’ll look for what works, what doesn’t, accuracy, and things that are potentially problematic. I provide authenticity reads for the following topics: LGBTQ+/queer and gender non-conforming characters and themes, same-sex parenting, donor conception, unconventional families, chronic pain/illness, physical disabilities, fertility struggles, ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, trauma, poverty, and Pacific Northwest settings.
